We are not going to waffle on, we all know that recruitment companies can be a great resource and below you will find a list of ones that are based in (or service) the QLD mining industry.

    Randstad is an international recruitment company, but they also have a good selection of current jobs in QLD. Most jobs require some form of trade qualifications, so is probably best for people currently working in industries such as electrical, welding and fitter who want to tranfers into the mining industry.
  • Byron Employment
    Established in 1995, Byron has quickly become one of Australia’s largest employment sites. With a lot of jobs in the mining industry, you will have to dig, but they do have some great entry level opportunities. This is actually a mining website, not a recruitment company – but well worth checking out.
  • WorkPac Group
    Specialising in resources, engineering, construction and health industries, WorkPac usually have quite a few labouring, and admin related jobs in mining areas – which could be a good ‘foot in the door’. Job listings usually require generic mining induction and current medical.
  • CoreStaff
    CoreStaff is a specialised mining recruitment company, but before you get too excited – they are the first to admit that getting a job in the mining industry with no experience is really hard. The good news is that they also mention that they do get these positions come up from time to time. Well worth checking their site from time to time, to see if they have any entry level positions.
  • HB Recruitment & Training
    This Toowoomba based, Queensland recruitment company, is a smaller agencies but has some great opportunities available. There website doesn’t have a search function, but you should be able to locate the mining related positions quite easily, and it might be worth just calling them anyway.
  • Resourceful Recruitment
    As you can tell by their name, Resourceful Recruitment specialises in Mining, Oil, Gas and Infrastructure industries. They have an  office in Brisbane and an easy to navigate website that includes current  job listings.
  • ChandlerMacleod
    This recruitment company has over 50 years experience and offices all around Australia. Focusing mainly on skilled positions, you may still be able to find the odd entry level position in a mining community that will at least get you in the area.
  • Jorco Recruitment
    An international recruitment company with an office in Brisbane. Jorco have a simple to navigate website that list mining (and mining related) positions around Australia – as well as a few international locations.
  • Gemco Recruitment
    A white and blue collar recruitment company based on the Sunshine Coast, Gemco recruit specialists in mining, resources and energy sector – as well as other related industries.

Labour Hire Companies

Getting work with a labour hire company could be a great way to get your start in the mining industry. Instead of recruiting for mining companies, these labour hire companies provide (hire out) workers on either short-term or long-term contract.

Here are several that work with the mining and resource industry:

  • Tesa Mining
    Tesa usually have a selection of both skilled and entry level opportunities on offer at any one time. They are known to have trainee dump truck positions as well as administration jobs from time to time.
  • Labour Solutions
    Labour Solutions Australia specialises in temporary, permanent and outsourced workforce solutions. You can register on their website and submit your resume.
  • Axial
    Most positions are for trade qualified or skilled worker, but if you are coming from a trade in the construction industry, this could be a good place to search.
